Our Program

We follow the teachings of Maria Montessori, a Malian educator and physician. Our school offers the best in traditional Montessori education.

We offer two educational programs. Both consist of a Montessori work time, Music group time, snack, and story. Next we head for the great outdoor playground & garden!

Preparatory Class

Ages-two and three year olds. Now they learn to say goodbye to their parents, work at their purposeful projects, have fun learning alongside their peers, practice potty training, take turns at group time, singing and playing games and enjoy a 3 hour day from 9 to 12:00.

Toddlers can attend these 2-5 days per week: Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday plus “Fun Fridays”. Lunch and after care until 4pm is offered also. Our school is open from 8AM to 4PM Monday through Friday.

Primary Class

Ages-three to six year olds work in a wonderfully prepared environment. The children have many hands-on materials in four basic learning areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language and Math plus Cultural subjects starting with Geography.

The children, being in a mixed age group, love to learn from each other and help those who are younger. Within the primary class the children can learn the excitement of reading, math, continents of the world and how to conduct themselves in society.

Montessori Method has proven itself of universal application. It has been tried with complete success with the children of almost every nation, race, color, climate, nationality, social rank, type of civilization – all these make no difference to its successful application.

Learn by Doing

Based on the child’s need to learn by doing. At each stage in the child’s mental growth, corresponding occupations are provided which develop the child’s inherent talents.

An Active Discipline

Does away with the necessity of coercion by means of rewards and punishments and achieves a higher discipline. It is an active discipline which originates within the child and it is not imposed from without.

Individualized Learning

Enables the teacher to deal with each child individually in each subject, and thus guide the child according to individual interests.

Mutual Help

Does away with the competitive spirit and its damaging results to children. More than this, at every turn it presents endless opportunities among the children for mutual help – which is joyfully given and gratefully received.

Holistic Development

Develops the whole personality of the child, not merely intellectual faculties, but also powers of deliberation, initiative and independent choice, with their emotional complements.

A Joyful Path

Montessori Method has revealed the small child as a lover of work, intellectual work, spontaneously chosen and carried out joyfully.

Enable Scholastic Success

Offers the child a maximum of spontaneity, as well as enabling the child to reach the same, or even higher, level of scholastic attainment as the traditional systems.

Independent Growth

Is based on a respect for the child’s personality and individual drive. It removes the overwhelming influence of adults, thus leaving room to grow in independence. Hence the child is allowed a large measure of liberty (not license) which forms the basis of real discipline. With freedom comes responsibility!

Work at Their Own Pace

Provides each child with the opportunity to work at his /her own pace. Each stone in the mental edifice is “well and truly laid” before the rest is added.

Free Choice

Provides the opportunity for the child to work from his/her own free choice, without competition and coercion.

Good Citizenship

By living as a free member of a real social community, the child is trained in those fundamental social qualities which form the basis of good citizenship.
